US actress Teri Hatcher (58, “Desperate Housewives”) loves Christmas, she reveals when meeting BILD am SONNTAG. “Every year I build a Christmas wonderland on our piano, I construct the most fantastic things out of gingerbread and I cook at home for 20 people.”

Two very special heart people among Teri’s guests only have to cross the street once for the celebratory meal this year. “My parents are 87 and unfortunately not that fit anymore,” says Hatcher. “So last year I brought them closer to us, they live right across the street now.”

Esther’s mother used to be an engineer, and Owen’s father was an engineer and physicist. Teri grew up as an only child, and her path into acting was anything but clear at first.

She reveals: “I studied math and engineering. Why? Because I grew up in a household where I was given no other choice. My parents said, ‘You’re going to be an engineer or nothing at all.’”

At first, Teri actually wanted to be a math teacher, but as is well known, things turned out differently, at the latest when she joined the cult series “Desperate Housewives” in 2004, the actress became an international superstar – and today her parents are also very proud of their famous daughter.

“It goes without saying that I now take care of my parents,” Teri Hatcher told BILD am SONNTAG on the sidelines of the “Mon Cheri Barbara Day” in Munich.

However: “But I have also noticed that it has been quite exhausting lately and that I haven’t done enough this year. My personal wish for 2023 is that I can take care of myself a bit more.”

A good intention!
