With the arrival of James Gunn and Peter Safran at the head of the DCU, Warner Bros is cleaning up. Henry Cavill is stripped of his role as Superman in favor of new blood while the whole universe will start from scratch. Rumors have suggested that Matt Reeves’ The Batman could be directly included in this new schmilblick, which has not failed to divide the community. During a press conference, the two new thinking heads of the DCU confirmed that The Batman 2 was still in the cards and provided some details.

The Batman 2 holds its release date

After The Last of Us, here is Batman Part II. The sequel to the hit film from Warner Bros has been formalized for an October 3, 2025 release in theaters. Matt Reeves and screenwriter Mattson Tomlin have already started writing the film which should still highlight Bruce Wayne. The duo promised that the billionaire will be at the heart of the story and his emotions and will not succumb to the parade of big bads who will relegate the vigilante to the background. This time it’s written in black and white, The Batman 2 will not be part of the DCU.
