Report: Reus extension today

Sports director Sebastian Kehl says about the new contract: “I am very happy that Marco will continue his special story at BVB for another year with this signature. At no time did we allow ourselves to be distracted by current discussions and our joint discussions were always positive, trusting and goal-oriented. As a player and a figure we can identify with, Marco is of enormous importance to this club – with our fans on the ‘Süd’, in this city, but also beyond the borders of Dortmund and with BVB fans all over the world.”

Reus himself adds: “We as a team, like all our fans, have one big goal in mind that we’re all concentrating on: we want to be German champions, and we need every single Borussia player to do that. But even beyond that, I still have a great desire to do my best for the club, where I’ve spent more than half my life. For me there is still nothing better than scoring goals in front of the best fans in the world and in the most beautiful stadium in the world and celebrating victories together. That’s why I’m happy that I’ve extended my contract for another year, because I’ve always said that I would prefer not to play for any other club in my career than for BVB.”

BVB legend
