Upon winning the race in Jeddah, Checo Pérez got off his RB19 and went to the corralito to celebrate with his team. The celebrations passed in front of Jos Verstappen, who did not make any gesture and whose attitude was criticized on social networks.
According to reports, there was a moment when there was a handshake between Checo and Max’s father, although this was not seen on the television broadcast.
“Obviously, my father is my biggest fan. I don’t like to lose and neither does my father. That’s how we grew up, but they always show the wrong images, of course,” Max Verstappen told the Dutch media, as reported by “Motorsport”. .
“Look, Checo gets out of the car and wants to celebrate with his mechanics, which is quite normal, but my father doesn’t belong in that party, of course. So, my father didn’t get in there. The current two-time Formula 1 champion shook off the criticism that he and his father receive and assured that the comments that come from social networks do not bother him.
