James Gunn continues to be surprisingly transparent about upcoming DC Universe productions, most recently with the Creature Commandos animated series. After Collider published a report on the cast for the series, Gunn has now confirmed the information via Twitter and also supplements it with new information.
First of all, we learn that Frank Grillo will play Rick Flag Sr., David Harbor is up for Frankenstein, Indira Varma will play Bride, Alan Tudyk is Dr. Phosphorous, Maria Bakalova has been cast as Ilana Rostovic, Sean Gunn returns as Weasel (as well as GI Robot), Zoe Chao is Nina Mazursky and finally Steve Agee will once again play John Econonmos.
Gunn also pointed out in a commentary that the rumors of Ron Perlman being attached to the series are false and that he will not appear in the series. Gunn also stated that all episodes in the series are written by himself, but that they will be directed by another person.
As for the Creature Commandos premiere, nothing has been confirmed yet, but it sure sounds like something to look out for.
