The city celebrates Memorial Day with activities

This Monday is Memorial Day and the city has several events to commemorate the date.

One of the most notable is the annual ceremony aboard the historic Intrepid Museum with remarks from high-ranking military officers, a rifle salute, and a military flyover.

The event will take place from ten in the morning.

On the Upper West Side, the annual ceremony is held at the Soldiers and Marines Memorial on Riverside Drive.

In Brooklyn, the annual Memorial Day parade takes to the streets of Bay Ridge for its 157th edition.

Their parade will take place from eleven in the morning.

And Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day is one of the most popular events in Queens.

The event is approaching its centenary; The organizers confirm that it began in 1927.

The event specifically honors the uniformed American men and women who protect the country by sea.

At the Intrepid museum ship and at various Manhattan docks, public tours are available on military ships that arrived in the city last week.
