Charles III crowned King of England, the longest tunnel in the world for pedestrians in Norway and the exhibition “Ramses and the gold of the Pharaohs” at La Villette in Paris: this is the program for this week for “Salut l info!”

Every week, the podcast “Salut l’info!” deciphers the news at the height of children, a program produced by franceinfo radio and Astrapi magazine. A show co-presented with the help of a young listener to the show.

The news takes us this week to England with the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on Saturday May 6. At 74, Charles III officially succeeds his mother, Elizabeth II, eight months after her death. The sovereign wants to modernize the royal family and he wanted, for his sacrament and that of his wife Camilla, a simpler ceremony than that of his mother 70 years ago. We also talk, in this episode, about the planned festivities.

Spot toxic algae in the sea

Also on the program: the participatory project of the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer), which invites the population to report the presence of colored waters in the sea. Because they sometimes indicate the presence of microalgae which can be toxic and risk suffocating marine species. With this initiative christened Phenomermore than 500 reports of microalgae have already been made in ten years.

Finally, we are talking about the longest tunnel for bicycles and pedestrians in the world which opened in the municipality of Bergen in Norway. It measures 2.9 kilometers and passes under a mountain. It was built to encourage more people to get around by bike and on foot rather than by car. Objective: to reduce traffic in the city and pollution.

A pharaonic exhibition

In this episode, Rémi d’Astrapi also invites you to discover the exhibition Ramses and the gold of the Pharaohs which is held until September 6, at the great Halle de la Villette in Paris. The opportunity to learn in particular that Ramses II is nicknamed Ramses the Great. Born in 1305 and died at the age of 92 in 1213, it was at the age of 25 that he became the third pharaoh of the 19th dynasty of Egypt. The rest of his story is fascinating!

Tips for singing in public

What can you do to sing confidently in front of your family or friends? This is the question asked this week by a young listener. With the help of the psychologist Nadège Larcher, the show gives him advice to better cope with this situation.

The program “Salut l’info!” listens to children’s emotions… but also their best jokes, left on the show’s answering machine on 01 47 79 40 00. Finally in the “Club Salut l’info!” reserved for listeners of the show, we discover the tastes and colors of our guest of the week, Dimitri, 9 years old.

Good listening !
