Last year, Farmen winner Henrik Eijsink (26) could adorn himself with a brand new electric car and cabin, when he won the 18th season of the popular reality programme.

However, it did not take long before he decided to sell the one prize.

– I wouldn’t sell it if I was in a situation where I could afford to have it. It’s a bit boring, but that’s the way it is, he tells TV 2.

The daily newspaper and The online newspaper mentioned that the prize should be sold first.

Unfortunate timing

The car, a Skoda Enyaq iV80 Sportline, was put up for sale just a couple of days before Christmas. After just over a month on the market, he still has the car in the garage – unused.

First interview after the Farmen victory: – It hasn’t sunk in

– It has not gone completely “smooth” with car sales. I think I was a bit unlucky with the timing. It was the Christmas holiday and New Year, and terribly bad conditions in Oslo in the New Year. Interest has been a bit thin. It’s a bit boring, he says.

The car had a value of NOK 590,000 when he won the prize. It is now priced at NOK 549,000.

The 26-year-old thinks it’s a shame that the only drive he got to enjoy was from the car dealer to the garage.

– I think it’s a bit crazy, because it’s a super car. It actually exceeded all expectations. I have only driven it from the dealer to the garage, so it’s a bit silly that it sits there unused. I would love to have it myself. I wouldn’t sell it if I could afford it, he says.

Prioritize other prize

Due to his life situation, the car is not a necessity for him. One of the reasons why Eijsink has chosen to sell it is to be able to afford the second part of the prize – the cabin.

In November, the 26-year-old told TV 2 that he was considering setting up the cabin in Lyngen municipality, where his fellow participant Dan-Håvard Johnsen (56) is mayor.

Because the car is still for sale, the cabin dream is put on hold for the time being. The 26-year-old hopes the plans can be realized soon.

Only a few weeks ago he visited Johnsen, together with participants Ivana Miric (28) and Einar Lund (21). Then he also looked at possible plots of land.

– There is certainly progress there, but it takes some time to get details in place. Then I have to go to work every now and then, but things are moving forward slowly but surely, he says and adds:

Unknown drama during the final: – Really tough

– It was incredibly fun to visit up there. The heather is absolutely fantastic.

Although Lyngen is on his cabin radar, he is not far off to find another place to put the Farmen cabin.

– It’s not 100 percent nailed down yet. We’ll see if we can reach an agreement that works. Processes have only just been started, but you can of course encounter challenges that lead to having to set it up somewhere else, he admits.
