In the federal public administration there is still a wide gap between men and women in management positions. According to the Federal Government Census carried out by the Inegi, 77% of the executive chairs are held by a man and the remaining 23% is held by a woman. These figures are in line with those available for the private sector, where barely 3 out of 10 management positions are held by women. These gender gaps in leadership positions are a pending task because female representation is essential for decision-making under equal conditions. On the other hand, the results of the Federal Government Census showed that the average income of female directors in the public sector is 143,763 gross monthly pesos; slightly higher than average for directors: 138,427 gross pesos per month.
