The industry heavy car assembly company slowed down in April of 2023considering that its annual growth rate was reduced to more than half of what it had reported in the previous March, indicate figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Ineig).

The figures from the autonomous institute indicate that, in the fourth month of this year, 17,557 units were manufactured in the plants installed in Mexico, while in the same period of a year earlier there were 15,360, this is a growth of 14.3 percent.

However, the increase in production that was observed in the previous March was 38.4 percent annually.

Exports increased 18.5 percent, in the same comparison, while retail sales rose 17.4 percent and wholesale trade increased 15 percent.

“The positive results that are shown today are the result of a growing demand for the vehicles that the associates produce, sell and export, as well as the work, innovation, investment and continuous improvement and commitment to the safe and sustainable mobility of the associates and of the value chain of motor transport”, indicated Alejandro Osorio Carranza, Director of Public Affairs and Communication of the National Association of Producers of Buses, Trucks and Tractor-trucks (Anpact).

To further boost the production sector and generate more jobs and economic and social development, Anpact stated that there is an urgency to expedite the procedures for registering and deregistering vehicles carried out by the General Directorate of Federal Motor Transport of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT).

This is due to the fact that the processes have become slower and more inefficient, taking up to 3 weeks, a situation that directly affects the motor transport companies.

In view of this, the importance of supporting said General Directorate with personnel and supplies was highlighted so that the procedures of the carriers are not delayed any longer, and progress is made in the implementation of electronic procedures.

“What will contribute to a more economic reactivation acceleratedby giving certainty about delivery times without affecting the service for the final customer, since the vehicles are productive assets that companies they require to move merchandise and supplies for multiple industries and sectors,” the executive concluded.
