“The house of the rabbits”, the movie of Valeria Selinger, returns to theaters. As reported in a press release, it will be screened at the Cinema Gaumont from Thursday 20 to Wednesday 26. In addition, it will also reach Select cinema in La Plata, the INCAA CC Leonardo Favio space and Mar del Plata.

What is it about? At just eight years old, Laura is used to using false names and moving house. She knows that to survive it is necessary not to say anything, not even to her grandparents. Laura’s parents hide the guns in caches on the roof of every house they live in.

But when the father is arrested, the mother dyes her hair bright red and together with Laura, they settle in the house of rabbits, where Diana lives, three months pregnant, and her husband Cacho, an economist in a suit and tie who works in Buenos Aires.

The new “Evita Montonera” printing press will work there once the Engineer builds the inlay, a hiding place whose only access is a fifty-centimeter door that opens with a special device. Without being able to go to school, and in the middle of a world full of silence, Laura thinks that this house is really a trap.

“The Rabbit House” Originally released in 2020, it won the Best Film Award at FICCSUR, Queens World Film Festival, FECIP, and two awards at the Guayaquil International Film Festival.

“When I read Laura Alcoba’s book (“Manèges, petite histoire argentine”) I saw part of my own life reflected and immediately visualized a movie. I was trapped by that story and as a necessity, as evidence, the literary adaptation then arose” the filmmaker said in a press release.
