The investigations and expert reports carried out after the fatal accident that occurred this Monday in the Atuel Canyon, where a tourist from Buenos Aires fell into the void while taking a selfie, allowed the husband to be released after giving a statement.

who was the victim

The woman was 39 years old, her name was Natalia Elizabeth Ramallo and she was a native of San Fernando, Buenos Aires. As a result of this accident in San Rafael, she died on the spot as a result of the strong impact against the rocks of that rugged site, with vertical slopes that flank the Atuel river bed, after the El Nihuil reservoir. At the time of the incident, she was in the company of her husband, who called 911 for help, and her son.

Rescuers had to use climbing elements and techniques to find the body of the woman, who was badly injured and unconscious. Medical personnel found that she had died at the scene.

After the rescue of the body, by the firefighters; the attention of the SEC personnel, who determined the death in the place of Ramallo; and the expert reports of the scientific police, the husband of the deceased was taken to the Rama Caída sub-station and the prosecutor Paula Arana took his statement, releasing him. Initially, the femicide case protocol was activated, and a gender violence prosecutor was given the opportunity to initiate the investigation.

The family had come on vacation and was enjoying the beautiful landscapes of southern Mendoza when the incident occurred that cost the 39-year-old woman her life. Natalia had climbed a rock looking for an angle that would allow her to take the photo and capture the beautiful panorama of the place.
