The film won the Guldbaggen audience award, which is voted for by the Swedish people based on the most watched Swedish films from last year.

14 titles had been whittled down during the winter when it finally came down to three, “Jag är Zlatan”, “UFO Sweden” and “Feed”.

And Guldbaggen’s audience award finally went to “Feed”. Joakim Lundell thus continues the trend of being hated by the critics, but loved by the audience.

Lundell’s TV series “Ghost Hunt” was voted the viewers’ favorite program at the Kristallen TV gala last September – for the third year in a row. Joakim Lundell tells TT that it means extra when it’s the audience who votes.

– The other films that are nominated may not have been seen by the audience, but the reviewers liked them. I think it’s democracy, that people get to participate and decide. I think galas die out if people don’t feel a connection to those who are nominated.

TT: Is there a new film in the works?

– We are working full time on the script for a new film, which will hopefully be shown in cinemas in August this year.

The Guldbaggen is Sweden’s foremost film award and has been awarded since 1964 to reward outstanding efforts in Swedish film.

SVT’s Kulturnyheterna has previously interviewed Joakim Lundell regarding his feature film debut:
