The matches of the La Platense Amateur Soccer League are usually involved in acts of violence. There are those that transcend and those that do not, the truth is that it is already common for episodes to be recorded where, fortunately many times, no major consequences are lamented.
For example this weekend, one of the First Division matches had to be suspended due to a stone, while in another of the Ascent a referee suffered a terrible kick.
The first of these occurred on the Las Malvinas stadium, where the local team beat La Plata Fútbol Club 2-1 shortly after the end. But the match that was being played on the premises of 528 and 140 had to be finished ahead of schedule.
As this newspaper learned, at the request of the linesman, the main referee was informed that a stone had flown onto the playing field. It is for this reason that the highest authority decided to terminate the actions, to save the integrity of the players.
Now it will be the Disciplinary Court of the La Plata league that will decide what measure it will take for this act of violence that, only fortunately, did not leave any injuries.
Where there was physical violence was in the clash for the Promotion division between San Carlos and 9 de Julio, since the referee of the match was attacked by a player from the visit, who was leading the scoreboard. On the field of 156 and 46 everything ended in the worst way when there were only 10 minutes left to play.
The victim was the man in black, whom they identified as Román Herrera, 33, who filed the corresponding complaint. According to the records, for a foul sanctioned against San Carlos, a player was reprimanded and then sent off due to his effusive protest. But a colleague of the man who saw the red had the violent reaction of kicking Herrera and injuring him.
Immediately a riot broke out and the playing field was filled with people, so after the attack the match was suspended and the Court must also decide on this violent episode, which adds to the long list that occurs week after week, not only in the older divisions, but also in the youth divisions and, what is worse, in the children’s divisions. In addition, the case is being investigated by the UFI in turn and a case for “injuries” has been opened.
