The Last of Us finally premiered on HBO, arriving as one of the top series of 2023. The adaptation of the game developed by Naughty Dog was extremely well received by critics, also earning a lot of praise from the public. With a first episode of almost an hour and a half long, the performances were celebrated with the cast of the series being valued.

Pedro Pascal / Joel

Also known for having participated in Game of Thrones, Bella Ramsey is an actress on the rise. In the adaptation of George RR Martin’s work, Ramsey played the small and brave Lianna Mormont, who stood out for all her bravery despite her young age. Now, the actress is again highlighted on HBO with the role of Ellie, a key character in the franchise.
Anna Torv / Tess
In the role of Joel’s partner we have Anna Torv. The one chosen by HBO to play Tess was one of the highlights of Mindhunter, a Netflix series. Also known for the series The Newsreader and Fronteiras, Anna Torv arrived with everything in the first episode in the role of the tough mercenary.
Gabriel Luna / Tommy
Known for having played the Ghost Rider in Agents of SHIELD, actor Gabriel Luna takes on a role of great importance in the HBO series, playing Tommy in the adaptation. Before playing Joel’s brother, Luna was also prominent as the villain in Terminator: Dark Fate.
Nico Parker / Sarah
Nico Parker’s mission in The Last of Us was not an easy one. Being a young actress, the girl took on the role of the central character in one of the most exciting and memorable scenes in the franchise. Playing Joel’s daughter, Parker delivered an excellent performance in the first episode.
Merle Dandridge / Marlene
Merle Dandridge is an actress who has made a name for herself in Broadway musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar, Spamalot and others. In the HBO production, Dandridge plays Marlene again, after giving life to the character in the games developed by Naughty Dog. The actress is also known for being the voice of Vance in Half-Life 2.
Nick Offerman / Bill
Those who played The Last of Us know how Bill is a remarkable and captivating character, with the survivor being one of the public’s favorites. In the series, the mission to bring the character to life was with actor Nick Offerman, known for his work on Parks and Recreation.
Lamar Johnson / Henry
While it has heavyweight names and experience in its cast, the HBO production also gives new faces the chance to show their potential. Against this backdrop, Lamar Johnson takes on the biggest role of his career so far, playing Henry in The Last of Us. This is the Canadian actor’s first major television project.
Keivonn Woodard / Sam
Completing the inseparable duo is Keivon Woodard, the little guy who was chosen to play Sam, Henry’s brother, in the HBO adaptation. The boy plays the character in even more scenes than were seen in the game, according to information released by HBO itself.
Storm Reid / Riley
While in games the character only appears in the DLC Left Behind, in the series Riley will have great importance in one of the episodes of the first season. In the HBO production, Storm Reid plays the character who is fundamental to Ellie’s story and development. The actress is known for her role in Euphoria.
