It is widely speculated that The Last of Us: Part II will also be released for Playstation 5 in a new edition, and this has gained new momentum after a Playstation 5 trailer for the game was quietly removed. The theory is based on rather loose evidence but still has some merit, as the Naughty Dog Central Twitter account explains.

Tweets about the potential re-release point to the Playstation 5 performance trailer for The Last of Us: Part II update being taken down sometime between May and July of this year. Also, the set of new photo mode features added in The Last of Us: Part I have yet to appear in the newer game. These are undeniably signs that Naughty Dog is planning a new version of The Last of Us: Part II, likely for PC and/or Playstation 5 – although of course it could be completely unrelated.

Given that the TV series premieres in January, The Last of Us: Part I is coming to PC in March, and The Last of Us: Part II is allegedly on the way again, and that Naughty Dog is working on a multiplayer game in the universe , so there could be at least four The Last of Us premieres in 2023.
