Algerian cuisine has a rich diversity of dishes and foods that allows it to seduce the taste buds of the most gourmet and to distinguish itself in several world occasions by winning trophies and prizes. Indeed, renowned chefs have started to reproduce the emblematic recipes of Algerian cuisine.

Among these chefs, we cite the Lebanese Abir El Saghir who has decided to highlight Algerian cuisine, by reproducing the favorite recipe of Algerians, the Mhajeb.

After announcing her desire to visit Algeria, the chef and the most followed influencer in the Arab world began to reproduce the favorite dish of Algerians. Indeed, in a video published on his social networks, Abir El Saghir reveals the stages of the realization of the Mahjouba.

Under the rhythm of Algerian music, in this case, Ya Rayeh, the Lebanese chef, tackled the production of a fine dough on the basis of semolina, before preparing the stuffing. The latter is similar to the preparation of the Chekchouka, in particular on the basis of onion and tomatoes. The next step in making the Mahdjouba is to thinly roll out the dough and stuff it with the second preparation before carefully folding the dough and very quickly cooking the Mahdjouba in a pan.

The staging of the stages of this recipe, the music Ya rayah by Rachid Taha, but also the outfit of Abir El Saghir, the clip of about sixty seconds highlights the traditional recipe of Algerian Mhajeb. Unveiled for his community, the video went viral and gained over 2.5 million views in less than 24 hours.
