“Many of the people who follow me are athletes, children or young people. The point was that they could relate to what I have experienced, give them a watershed. I wanted it not to be just another reading, but for them to be able to get involved and have their own introspection journey”, expressed the athlete.

The book is written in a pleasant and simple way, as well as being accompanied by numerous illustrations, activities at the end of each chapter and several musical recommendations to accompany the reading, details that reveal that youthful vocation.

At 28 years old, Moreno (Mexicali, 1994) is one of the great figures of Mexican gymnastics and can boast several medals in world championships, two participations in Olympic Games -Finished fourth in Tokyo 2020– and from National Sports Award in 2019.

GYMNASTICS, AN INDISOCIABLE PART OF HER LIFE

The book, which begins with the story of how her mother signed up a hyperactive girl who was not even three years old and hung from the swings to gymnastics classes, helped the author to revisit moments of her life that had been left behind. forgotten in the storage room of memory.

“By trying to explain, I would go deeper and realize my own mistakes. And he helped me a lot to remember many things that I had suddenly forgotten. It was good, it was an introspection, a trip to the past, ”she commented.

From that early foray into gymnastics until today, 25 years have passed in which the elite sportWith her routines, trips and anguish, she modeled the Mexican style and became an inseparable part of her person.

“It will always be a part of me. Gymnastics has given me the opportunity to meet people, places, sensations. He also (taught me) managing emotions and pressure. If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t be here writing a book,” she recounted.

When Moreno presented his book last Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL)surprised by stating that she had thought about quitting gymnastics on two occasions because she was haunted by the fear of failure.

“When I finished the book I still hadn’t decided (whether to leave the sport or not). I wanted to see it from another point of view, do the little earrings, the elements and routines that I would have liked to do, and not have the pressure of wanting to qualify for the Olympic Games”, she stated.

Now, however, he assures that he would like to compete in the next world championship of artistic gymnasticswhich will be held between September and October in the Belgian city of Antwerp.

“It is very difficult, because the truth is that time is already upon us. But I’m going to try, I just started training, ”she admitted.

Despite his youth, his laureate career endorses him as one of the most authoritative voices to evaluate the health of Mexican gymnastics, a sport that, he denounces, lacks attention, support and organization.

“There is talent, it’s a matter of knowing how to work with it. What slows down the growth of the sport is disinterest, ”she said.
