MEXICO CITY (appro).- The women’s national team got their first pass to the final super round of the baseball World Cup that takes place in Thunder Bay, Canada.
The participation of the ninth Mexican team in the international tournament consisted of three victories against Australia 16-8, Hong Kong 16-6 and South Korea 10-0, as well as two defeats: the first in the debut against Canada 9-0 and against undefeated United States 2-0.
In this way, the Mexican team advanced for the first time in its history to the final phase as third place in group A. The first place went to the United States and the second to the ninth local team, Canada.
It should be noted that the Women’s Baseball World Cup returned after five years of absence and that it is the first international participation of the Mexican team. The Mexicans won their pass to the World Cup in August 2022 in the pre-world cup held in Venezuela.
