HBO Max’s second best start in 15 years, this event series lifts the veil on the continuation of the adventures of Joel and Ellie. The second episode will be available on January 23 in France.

A new trailer for The Last of Us. After a critically acclaimed first episode, the sequel to HBO’s hit series, adapted from the famous video game of the same name, is revealed in a short video.

Directed by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin (Chernobyl), The Last of Us follows the scenario of the original game and tells the story of the duo formed by Joel, a trafficker broken by a tragedy played by Pedro Pascal, and Ellie, a teenager played by Bella Ramsey whom he must protect in a world almost destroyed by a virus, where zombies roam.

This new extract thus offers a glimpse of the future adventures that await Joel and Ellie as they begin their perilous journey through a post-apocalyptic America populated by “Clickers” – the name of the zombific creatures reached by the virus at the maximum stage.

Record viewership on HBO

Entitled Infected, this second episode will be available from January 22 on HBO in the United States and the next day on Prime Video in France. In the aftermath, HBO Max also released a video behind the scenes of the first episode of the series in which its creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, return to the design of this adaptation.

Available since January 16 in France, The Last of Us was eagerly awaited by its audience, as evidenced by the audience records achieved by the series on HBO. Sunday evening, the program signed the second best start of the platform (behind House of the Dragon) for 15 years. A total of nine episodes are expected for this first season.
