Day 4 and thus the last day of “The Perfect Dinner” in the Westerwald takes the group to Anni (31) in Westernohe. “For me, this is a winner’s menu because it really suits my taste,” she said confidently. Should she be right or does something still go wrong?
Anni built her dream house with her husband in Westernohe, with a view of the Westerwald. You can even watch alpacas in the pasture from the kitchen. In this idyll there is plenty of room for creativity when cooking. Anni’s menu for “The Perfect Dinner” reads as follows:
She came up with her sideboard concept for the plates based on drawings. “When I start planning a meal, the first thing I think about is the main character on the plate. I think about whether I can also have something of crunch, something creamy, of all textures on my plate.” Markus (42) expects optical highlights: “Today she will attach great importance to preparing really tasty and cool plates.”

Appetizer not to Andrej’s taste: “Much too salty”
First of all, the last aperitif of the week inspires, also thanks to the beautiful scenery on the terrace. “You came here as if you were in a resort somewhere and you feel right at home,” beams Sandra (41). “The aperitif wasn’t my thing at all, but that doesn’t matter at all.”
Then Anni piles up marinated salmon, cream cheese cream and apple-cucumber-avocado. “Good balance,” praises Markus. “I don’t even know that with salmon and apple,” says Andrej (37), happy about the new taste. But: “I was hoping for a lot more from the salmon. In addition, the entire dish was for me personally way too salty was.” Sandra assesses the overall concept: “In combination with this arrangement and the coordinated herbs up to the taste of apple, cucumber, avocado, that was it really masterful. I won’t deduct a single point for it, even though I didn’t like it.”

“The perfect dinner”: fillet of beef “calls for a second helping”
Will Sandra not only be impressed by the looks of the main course but also by the taste? Filet of beef with carrot and sweet potato puree, potatoes and snow peas are appetizingly draped on the plate. “The meat is already crying out for second helpings. That’s me,” says Markus, making the best compliment any cook would want to hear. “I found the fillet of beef really perfect”, Andrej is also satisfied with the meat. “But I found all the side dishes just mediocre.” Sandra, on the other hand, has nothing wrong with the whole dish: “That’s great, Annie!”
Mango ice cream and raspberry tarts close the week successfully. “Your tart is world class,” Sandra enjoys every spoonful of the creamy dessert. However, Andrej misses the raspberry taste. Nevertheless, he finds: “The last evening was wonderful. I had a lot of fun. The food was good, Anni was an excellent hostess.” Sandra even pulls out the maximum number of ten points: “It was the absolutely mega perfect dinner ever.” With a total of 26 points Anni wins the four-day week and 3,000 euros.
