Dutch prosecutors have warned the Erasmus Medical Center in writing that they are concerned about the chaotic behavior of the man who shot and killed a woman, her daughter and a doctor in Rotterdam on Thursday, Reuters and Agerpres report.

The 32-year-old aggressor, a student at that center, fatally shot a 39-year-old neighbor and her 14-year-old daughter, as well as a 43-year-old doctor who taught at the institution of medical education.
He was detained by the police and will be presented to a court next Tuesday, said a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office, who confirmed the authenticity of the warning letter reported by the Dutch press.
The document mentioned the suspect’s “psychotic behavior” and alcohol problems, as well as complaints from neighbors about the way he behaved with animals. The date of the letter was not visible in the broadcast images.
The prosecutor’s office considers that the respective information can “contribute to the decision regarding the eligibility of the respective person for a general practitioner diploma”.

Regional broadcaster Rijnmond, carried by Reuters, said the school later decided not to award a diploma to the man identified by the media as Fouad L. The prosecutor’s office declined to comment on those details.
The police announced that they are investigating the motive of the crimes.
Chief prosecutor Hugo Hillenaar said on Thursday that the suspect had a previous police record and had been convicted in 2021 for animal abuse.
After the incident, television news in the Netherlands showed images of students fleeing and patients being evacuated from the hospital.
Armed attacks are unusual in the Netherlands. King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, sent their condolences for the three victims.
