On the same afternoon that the assault rape allegedly took place, a 25-year-old man was arrested and detained on suspicion of aggravated rape. The man was later released on the loose.
– Based on what emerged in the interrogation, he cannot be the perpetrator. The police are now working to find who could be the perpetrators, prosecutor Camilla Nordgren previously told SVT.
The police currently have no detainees. They are adamant that they are looking for several people connected to the incident.
Want to produce witnesses
Robert Loeffel does not want to comment on the state of the evidence, but says police are looking for more witnesses in the area. They have gone out through social media with requests for sightings from the current afternoon and evening.
– We need to get witnesses, it is very important, says Robert Loeffel.
– We work with information gathering. We’re knocking on doors in the area, we’re handing out flyers and we’ve been out and about to see if we can get hold of people who have passed this location at the time.
What is the priority of this case?
– It is always a high priority when we work to solve serious crimes. We are actively working on the matter.
Will the police solve this case?
– It depends entirely on what kind of material we obtain in the investigation. You can never promise anything, says Robert Loeffel.
