The former Defense Minister Walter Ayaladuring the term of the former president Pedro Castillowas surprised in the morning hours of this Monday, December 26, after the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and agents of the High Complexity Crime Investigation Division (Diviac) of the Police intervened in his home and office, located in the district of Surco.

As reported, the search would be part of the investigations that continue towards the former head of Defense and 27 other generals in the face of alleged irregular promotions in the Armed Forces and the PNP through payments.
The First Preparatory Investigation Court of the Supreme Court of Justice of Lima was the one who decided on the intervention that takes place simultaneously in parts of the country such as Cusco and Tumbes.
ALLEGED PAYMENTS TO PASS FROM COLONEL TO GENERAL
It should be noted that unlike Walter Ayala where a search of their home has been ordered, the 27 Police generals did not suffer the same fate, since the Judiciary ordered their preliminary detention for a period of 10 days.
It was learned that the PNP generals would have offered payments to seek promotion from colonel to general. Prosecutor Marita Barreto is in charge of the proceedings.
