Nine million of the money goes to an investment in mental health, where, among other things, they want to recruit more psychologists and care coordinators.

⁃ There are two occupational groups that we know can actually be recruited, says Daniel Schützer.

Eleven million will go to health centers that are located far from an emergency hospital and ten million will go to all health centers.

Criticism of the funding

The region hopes that increased wages will lead to higher tax revenues that can partially finance the investment. But according to Daniel Schützer, it will probably be the profit equalization reserve – saved surplus – that will finance the investment. Something that receives criticism from regional councilor Fredrik Larsson (M)

⁃ It is irresponsible when we enter a recession, he says.

He continues:

⁃ We should also not forget that the committee that Daniel Schützer chairs is estimated to have a deficit of 700 million. If that happens, there is no money left in the profit equalization reserve — and it is only money that can be used once.
