Maduro regime rules out negotiating with the opposition abroad

CARACAS.- The campaign manager of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Jorge Rodríguez, offered a press conference after the end of the electoral day this Sunday in the South American country in which he stated that the dictatorship has the advantage in the elections, despite the fact that the official results have not yet been announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

“We thank them, we cannot give results but I will show our faces, today was a victory for everyone,” said Jorge Rodríguez.

He also stated, indirectly declaring themselves winners of the elections, that “once the bulletin (the first bulletin with the results) is issued, we will meet where you know.”

“We are respectful of the laws of our country,” said Rodriguez after assuring that they would wait for the results of the CNE. “The people have spoken and that voice of the people must be respected,” he insisted.

“We want to thank the CNE and its five rectors, who today have given a new demonstration that it works perfectly and that has allowed the democratic celebration to take place in absolute peace,” he said.

Rodríguez indicated that the ruling party would respect “the moment and the ruling at the moment in which the National Electoral Council reads the first bulletin, with an irreversible tendency for the electoral result.
