The trial for the crime of Fernando Baez Sosa It is in the final stage and Burlando – defense lawyer for the victim’s family – surprised at the time of making his allegations and presented a series of videos that argued his postulates before the Court. “It was a very long day. We wanted to expose first with words and then with images. I knew that it was going to be difficult for the Court, no matter how much effort it made, to identify each of the defendants. What we did with this was, neither more nor less, than to facilitate the task”the lawyer explained Fernando Burlando at the close of the first day of pleadings.
The audiovisual material referred to by the legal representative was exhibited in front of the judges of the Oral Court in Criminal No. 1 and, although it will not be added as evidence to the file, it made it possible to identify -from a pixel reconstruction- one per one, with name and surname, to each of the eight defendants and their actions during the ferocious attack at dawn on January 18, 2020 in front of the Le Brique bowling alley in Villa Gesell.
The videos exhibited were a detail of some of those that were seen during the thirteen days of presentation of the evidence. What was done, according to what was stated by the team of lawyers of the individual victim, It was a job to “clarify” the projected images and, in addition, indicate with a circle the action of each of the accused. A follow-up was also carried out, which is called movement tracking, to determine exactly what was the action of each of them.
In the first part of the video you see Máximo Thomsen inside the bowling alley, when one of the patovicas wants to take him away. It is the moment after the crossing that the rugby player had on the track with Fernando and his friends, during the Neo Pistea show. There, as can be seen, Thomsen pointed at someone and then ran his index finger across his neck from left to right.
The second part corresponds to the one filmed by Lucas Pertossi and shows the start of the fight: the treasonous attack on Fernando Báez Sosa while he was talking with his friends. The third film is the one that recorded the beating between the two cars and that is recorded from the sidewalk in front of Le Brique. There they identified seven of the eight defendants. The only one not seen is Ciro Pertossi, but is later re-identified at the end of the attack.
In the fourth fragment of the video, the one at the end of the attack recorded on the same sidewalk, but a few meters away, the attackers withdraw and Fernando’s body lying on the ground.
At the end, Burlando was forceful and asked for the eight defendants, whom he named one by one, that they be sentenced to life imprisonment as co-author of the “homicide aggravated by treachery and by the premeditated competition of two or more people to the detriment of Fernando Báez Sosa, in competition with minor injuries to life imprisonment”.
