It was raw, it was brutal, it was bloody, it was naked – and now it’s finally back. We are of course talking about the snarky gladiator drama Spartacus, which according to Variety will return in the form of a new show after it was put on hold in 2013. Steven S. DeKnight will return as the showrunner of the series, where in a statement he promises something unique for the sequel:

“It’s such an incredible honor to be invited to return to the world of ‘Spartacus’ and to be met with unbridled creative support from my colleagues at Starz and Lionsgate. Together we are crafting something truly unique and unusual for the next chapter in this epic story.”

The series also received a prequel show called “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena” after lead actor Andy Whitfield was stricken with cancer. After the actor died, the original series continued for two more seasons. How about more Spartacus?
