This is the first price increase for the Strava app in more than a decade, which has been slow to communicate on its increases. Thus, from February 2, the monthly offer goes from 7.99 euros per month to 9.99 euros per month.
Strava is an application that allows you to follow your running or cycling routes. France is affected by the increase in subscription. Except that not all countries are experiencing the same increase, which has not failed to be highlighted by users on the Reddit network. Some have seen prices double while others have seen prices increase by up to 67%. Users also pointed out that Strava did not clearly announce the price increases.
Strava was therefore forced to publish a note on its blog on January 12 to explain this increase: “While our subscription price has remained largely constant over the past few years, we also take local market conditions into account. When costs and plans are adjusted, we always strive to improve your experience and invest in the value delivered to you every day.”
The note also explains that “price changes vary by region and preferred platform.”
Annual subscription unchanged
The annual subscription does not change. According to a Strava support blog, subscribers “will receive notification of your updated price 30 days prior to your subscription renewal date.”
The app has over 100 million users in total, including the free service. The subscription allows the user to access many functionalities such as the design of routes, the creation of objectives or even to activate a training diary.
