Game News The third opus of this horror saga unveiled by an easter egg

Share :

Created by Resident Evil saga founder Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within is a beloved series that could return in the coming months. This is indeed what suggests a hint hidden in the surprise game of the last Xbox event: Hi-Fi Rush. If this detail is correct, the famous survival horror could indeed welcome a third episode!

Unveiled at the last Xbox event, Hi-Fi Rush is the work of Tango Gameworks, the studio founded by Shinji Mikami. Since its surprise arrival, the game has been discovered and completed by many players and some have searched the environments from top to bottom to flush out secrets. Recently, an easter egg was found and could announce a third episode of The Evil Within series. The information was given by the GamesRadar+ site and one of the journalists took the opportunity to verify the presence of this Easter egg. During a cutscene where the characters take an elevator, a screen is displayed as they reach their destination. You can read very quickly (it’s furtive, you have to have a sharp eye) the number 776. At the very bottom, in very small letters, it is indicated: ” The sequel to the popular survival horror franchise is announced. “It was enough for the small world of gaming to boil.

Reality or mirage? The Evil Within back soon?

An easter egg has never been a confirmation, but it is for now the best “proof” of a possible return of The Evil Within. This survival horror is particularly appreciated and it is obvious that Tango Gameworks is not idlying its thumbs. Certainly, part of the team is at work on the title Ghostwire: Tokyo (as well as the mobile game Hero Dice), but it is obvious that the Easter egg presented here refers to another license. Now, let’s not forget that Ghostwire: Tokyo started out as… The Evil Within 3. It could just be a simple nod to this phase of development. We will see in a few weeks or months if those concerned were right.
