How does the left want to fight pension reform? In Parliament but also in the street, with the unions. “Their date will be ours”, explains Clémentine Autain on BFMTV-RMC this Tuesday. While congratulating a “very valuable union unit”, while the centrals – even the CFDT, yet perceived as reformist – converge to oppose a postponement of the legal age of departure.
The rebellious MP calls for mobilization in the face of the government’s project, which should notably consist in extending the legal retirement age to 64 years. “I know it’s not always easy to go on strike, to lose a day’s pay, but I’m convinced that the challenge is worth the effort,” said the elected official.
“The number that we will represent in the mobilization, that’s the key”, continues Clémentine Autain.
Several meetings planned by the left
If, according to Clémentine Autain, “the moment that can most federate in the country will be the date proposed by the trade unions”, the left is also organizing to fight against the pension reform. The important thing, says the parliamentarian, is that “all this indicates a rise in power”.
From this Tuesday evening, Nupes executives (François Ruffin, Mathilde Panot, Fabien Roussel, Marine Tondelier, Boris Vallaud….) are meeting in the 11th arrondissement of Paris for a metting organized by Fakir, François Ruffin’s newspaper, and the Reporterre media.
On the 17th, again. This time, the Nupes is on the initiative for a joint meeting at the Japy gymnasium in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
Then, the rebels participate with youth organizations in another mobilization against the government’s plan on January 21. In the absence, however, of their colleagues from Nupes.
Finally, rebels who failed the new management of La France insoumise, such as François Ruffin, Clémentine Autain or Alexis Corbière, will be present in Bobigny on February 16 for a joint meeting.
