Yellowjackets star Liv Hewson, 27, has turned down an Emmy nomination. The US broadcaster Showtime proposed the award. Hewson should be nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Across from “ VarietyHewson explained the rejection: “There is no place for me in these acting categories. It would be inaccurate if I registered as an actress. It also doesn’t make sense that I’m lumped in with the boys.”
Hewson came out as non-binary by the age of 16, and uses the pronouns “they/them”.

“Halloween” star Jamie Lee Curtis (64) recently said after winning an Oscar in March that for them the trophy is gender neutral.
The non-binary “The Crown” star Emma Corrin (27) agrees with the opinions, having already expressed a desire for it at the end of last year gender-neutral actor categories at major film awards.
Hewson plays the teenage lesbian Vanessa “Van” Palmer on “Yellowjackets.” The mystery drama series follows a girls’ soccer team’s struggle to survive after a plane crash in 1996 – and the lives of the survivors 25 years later. Even cannibalism plays a role.
Season 2 started at the end of March on the German streaming service Paramount+. The survival drama with a mostly female cast has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards. The award ceremony will take place on September 19th.
