A horticultural producer from the town of Lisandro Olmos in La Plata denounced that two police officers had stolen around $450,000 while resting in his truck. The event happened last Saturday around 11:30 p.m., but it came to light in the last few hours.

“On Saturday night I was a few blocks from my house and I felt very tired. It’s just that I was selling a load of potatoes that I brought from Balcarce for farms in the area from morning until late afternoon. Then, I was defeated by the I dreamed and fell asleep,” said the 26-year-old horticulturist. It was then that, concerned, the neighbors notified the police and upon arrival, the presumed police officers pointed a gun at the driver and forced him to get out of the vehicle parked at 90 between 197 and 198. While one of them guarded him, the second agent would have taken a backpack in which he kept the money collected during the deliveries and after several crossings they finally left aboard a truck without lights or license plate.

“I could not believe it”the victim recounted Yimer Barriosin dialogue with the newspaper The day and explained that noticing what was happening, he began to explain to them that he was an agricultural producer and not a criminal: “I showed them the documentation of my truck and one of them, then, told me ‘shut up’ and also ‘stay here, don’t move’. I didn’t understand anything,” he said. After about 15 minutes and after they also took away his cell phone, green card, and truck keys, the alleged police officers escaped without a trace.

The biggest surprise for the young man, however, came about an hour later: after remaining motionless assimilating the situation, Yimer said that the troops returned and returned his cell phone and the truck key. The neighbors assure that the situation is not new and at this time they seek to gather signatures to present them to the prosecutor’s office on duty to demand that the facts be investigated and that they get to the bottom of what happened.
