Ponce municipal agents arrested a mental health patient on Saturday afternoon who allegedly tried to take a seven-year-old girl.
The events occurred in the beach area of the La Guancha Recreational Complex and it was agent Javier Torres who intervened with the man.
The preliminary report indicates that the complainant alleged that the subject grabbed the minor’s hands and tried to take her away by force. After the officer intervened, the suspect fled the scene.
The man – who has not been identified – was later arrested by authorities.
This case was referred to Agent Elizabeth Ruiz of the Sex Crimes Division.
