A court spokesperson reported that the arrest was carried out by personnel from the La Plata Division of the Argentine Federal Police after a raid in the area of ​​2 bis and 75 streets.

According to the investigation, the detainee was in charge of receiving money for managing the “stops” for women in prostitution, on the corners of the radius between avenues 1, 60, 122 and 72.

On December 21, Ramos Padilla prosecuted five women and three men in the framework of this case, for their participation in the sexual exploitation of women and drug sales.

For the judge, “this complex scenario of trade and abuse in the consumption of narcotics, sexual exploitation of women and violence to which many of the sex workers who carried out their activities in the ‘red zone’ were subjected, shaped the conditions of the possibility of multiple episodes of violence in the area and, in particular, the context in which the disappearance and subsequent death of Johana occurred.”

Since March of last year, Ramos Padilla promoted the investigation to analyze the context in which Johana’s femicide had occurred and gave intervention to different areas specialized in gender violence and human trafficking, who proposed different lines of work that culminated in these arrests and prosecutions.

The detainees cover the entire line of drug marketing, from those who provided fractional cocaine to distribute for sale, to those who made the retail sale, the sources explained.

The exploited women “were in situations of extreme vulnerability from a social, economic, relationship and family perspective, presenting in some cases, in addition, fragility in their physical and mental health.”
