A referee was brutally beaten in the middle of an amateur soccer tournament played on one of the fields of a well-known sports venue in La Plata. The attackers were denounced and, despite the brutality of the attack, fortunately the victims did not suffer serious injuries.
The event happened in the “Las Palmas property”located in 515 y 143, where one more of the many matches of an amateur tournament was played. Although the game was going smoothly, a referee’s ruling angered one of the two teams and several players quickly pounced on the referee.
According to the witnesses, towards the end of the game the judge expelled a player and he immediately punched him in the face. After the violent situation, the referee decided to suspend the match, but the problem did not stop there, as the teammates of the young man who was sent off chased the referee and his assistants, attacking them with pineapples and kicks.
The other soccer players and people present had to intervene to stop the beating so that the judges could leave the place without the situation becoming even worse. Although with minor injuries, the victims decided to file a complaint at the Melchor Romero Fourteenth Police Station, which is already being investigated by police officers and local Justice.
