The Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires announced the dates for the Public and Open Artistic Opposition Competition of Merits and Background to fill vacant positions on a permanent basis in Grouping I (Artistic) of Law 12,268, corresponding to the Orchestra, Choir and Ballet Stables of the Teatro Argentino. Registration will begin on January 20, February 1 and February 7 respectively.

In the Permanent Orchestra, 13 positions are competing in the following rows: Principal Soloists of Viola, Flute, Trumpet, Trombone and Harp; and double instrument (Oboe/English Horn); Associate Soloists for Cello, Flute, Horn, Trombone, Oboe and Timbale and Alternate Soloist for Horn. Applicants may submit the registration application, in the period between January 20 and February 3 inclusive (until 7:00 p.m.), by sending an email to [email protected] with the requested documentation, submitting the originals of the same at the time of the contest. Testing will begin on February 16.

In the Stable Choir, 11 positions of Choir Mass will be covered for the voices in all their registers: sopranos, mezzo-sopranos and contraltos; tenors and baritones/bass. Registration will take place between February 1 and 20:00 on February 14. Those who wish to participate must request the form through the email [email protected] The tests will begin on March 1, at 10.

In the Stable Ballet, the call is to cover 11 positions of Row Dancers (of both sexes). Those who wish to participate must request the registration form by email to [email protected], between February 7 and February 14 at 5:00 p.m. Testing will begin on March 2.

The opposition and background tests for all the contests contemplate the practical evaluation of the aptitude necessary to obtain the position and consist of the execution and interpretation of works chosen by the participant and pieces imposed by a jury specially formed for each Artistic Body.

The requirements and conditions to participate in each of the contests, as well as the composition of the juries and the respective regulations, may be consulted in person at the Teatro Argentino Provincial Arts Center, on the website of the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires.
