Juarez City.- Staff from the Limpia Directorate work to clean the main ditch in collaboration with the National Water Commission, so that the channel is clean and the water that the United States delivers to Mexico can be received, due to the International Water Treaty between the two countries.

The director of the unit, Gibran Solís, explained that due to said agreement, Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar was asked for his support to clean the ditch and work is already underway on it.

“The purpose is that the space is free of garbage to facilitate the flow of water resources. They are working with a team of 22 people and they intend to cover a 15-kilometer stretch, so they are working against the clock, since the opening of the floodgates begins in May ”, he explained.

The official indicated that the activities carried out by the Limpia staff are inside the ditch, removing garbage and lifting any object that could cause clogging and prevent the flow of water.

“We made a tour with Conagua personnel to identify the most critical points, at the moment work is being done at the height of the cigar monument. Only labor was requested from us, the Commission has the necessary equipment to remove silt and cut grass, ”he added.
