After six parallel raids at Chacra 181 in Posadas, they arrested 9 suspects, the majority of Paraguayan nationality, and seized cocaine, cash, weapons, and items from various crimes committed in the city.

The deployment of the different operational units of the Regional Unit I of the Misiones Police occurred around 5 this morning. The uniformed men surrounded and entered the internal streets of the neighborhood where, by order of Investigating Judge 2, they broke into six houses located on El Trabajador street.

From the provincial force they indicated that the procedure was completed “after several weeks of intelligence work” in the framework of “an investigation of this gang for at least five robberies committed in the provincial capital.” They indicated that “investigators had connected the facts and established that four of the criminals were Paraguayan nationals, who entered the country illegally, settling on the raided farm.”

Once the perpetrators of the crimes and their homes were identified, this morning was the surprise deployment that allowed the arrest of 9 men, two of them wanted for robberies, threats and damage both in Posadas and in the neighboring country, as well as a minor under 15 years that he would have active participation together with the elders in crimes against property.

In addition, another important piece of information handled by Criminal Intelligence personnel is that the 10 criminal acts investigated were carried out through a network of contacts through handies, using different frequencies that were determined by the Police Telecommunications Department.

Raids and kidnappings

In the homes searched, they seized a homemade Tumbera-type firearm, a compressed air pistol with which they intimidated the victims, various sharp sharp elements, 5 handies, a marijuana plant over 2 meters long, a piece of cocaine chalk, a precision scales, cash, a large number of allegedly stolen tools, household appliances, bank cards, cell phones, and other items of interest to the cause.

Among the detainees, Leandro Rodrigo V., 25, has 10 legal cases for robberies and Simeón V., 34, is accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at a private home in this town. Through the exchange of international information, it was possible to establish that both have criminal records in Paraguay.
