A case that mourns the entire region happened this last Saturday, when An 18-year-old boy identified as Joaquín Kossman died after being hit by a car on Route 11. The victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the impact and was taken to the larrain hospital of Berissowhere he finally lost his life.
The crash happened at kilometer 20, after an 82-year-old man -aboard a Chrysler Neon- hit the boy who was riding a mountain bike on the highway. The authorities acted quickly but, despite the attempt, Joaquín died due to the seriousness of his injuries.
How the accident occurred is still being investigated and the exact moment the crash occurred is being searched on security cameras to clarify it.
The authorities opened a case labeled as “culpable homicide”which has the Chrysler driver as a defendant.
