CDMX.- Pablo Gómez, head of the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) accused a judge and three members of a collegiate court of protecting Luis Cárdenas Palomino, who was the right hand of Genaro García Luna and is in prison.

The official indicated that these members of the Judiciary protect criminals and corrupt people.

During the morning, before President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who considered the issue an affront to justice, Gómez affirmed that the magistrates’ resolution is final and unassailable.

Gómez indicated that a judge and the members of the Fifth Collegiate Court on Administrative Matters of the First Circuit, made up of Jorge Antonio Cruz Ramos, president; María Elena Rosas López and Pablo Domínguez Peregrina, validated illegal activities with their criteria.

The amparo, he reported, was given on January 25, 2023.

“It is a final and unassailable resolution, we have no appeal. The Court rejected an appeal filed by the Mexican Government through the Financial Intelligence Unit and as a co-participant of the appeal the President of the Republic himself.

“Jurisprudence prepared at the time by Minister Medina Mora approved by the Second Chamber (of the Court) and that not all, I want to insist, the judges apply blindly, blindly.

“Not only is it a malinchista criterion, it is a criterion that serves to validate illegal activities, protect not only criminals from organized crime but especially the corrupt ones.”

The head of the UIF complained that now he must sign an agreement to benefit Luis Cárdenas Palomino.

“With this protection, I have to sign an agreement to remove from the list of blocked persons a man named Luis Cárdenas Palomino, a well-known criminal, a former public official who is imprisoned in a United States prison,” he said.

“The judge can’t do that, but he can order the FIU to unlock the blocked account, we have a blocked account of 5 million and a half, the judge unlocked it and the next day goodbye, that’s the trick of the thing.”

When taking the floor, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that the action of the judges is an affront to justice.

“When Pablo informed me of the amparo to this man, I said, this cannot remain hidden, it is not just another bureaucratic procedure, it is an affront to justice, to the movement that seeks to end corruption and impunity, and we are going to fight these battles. give every day”

Gómez indicated that Cárdenas Palomino was blocked for 5 million pesos.

While Genaro García Luna was Felipe Calderón’s Secretary of Public Security, Luis Cárdenas Palomino was head of the Regional Security Division of the Federal Police.
