One thousand four hundred and fifty liters of fuel were seized this afternoon in a police operation carried out on a rural road on the former national route 12, near the town of El Alcázar. The fuel was transported irregularly in 70 unapproved 20-liter drums by a convoy of three cars that tried to evade a police control.

According to what was reported by police sources, the procedure was carried out around 3:00 p.m. in circumstances in which the troops of the local police station were carrying out the checkpoint, when they spotted the drivers, who, upon noticing the police presence, carried out several maneuvers trying to give themselves up. the escape, being intercepted by the troops meters ahead.

The agents identified the motorists and in the first vehicle, they noticed that the back of the seats and trunk were loaded with drums of flammable liquid. In a Citroën they seized 29 drums of about 20 liters, the Fiat Uno carried 17 containers and the Renault 19 carried 24 drums, the spokespersons detailed.

Consequently, the Justice of the Peace of El Alcázar ordered that the vehicles and the 1,400 liters of fuel be seized. As for the drivers, an act was drawn up for infraction of the National Traffic Law No. 24,449.
