Juarez City.- Girls and boys in a situation of mobility who are refugees in the ‘Kiki Romero’ municipal shelter were able to enjoy the interactions that the La Rodadora Museum has, as part of the activities for the month of childhood.

“We were invited to the inauguration of the recent Roda Maker facility, where children and adolescents learn about science, how robots work, to carry out experiments with a focus on technology, among other activities,” said Santiago González, head of the Human Rights Directorate of the Municipality.

She explained that museums offer a wide range of educational opportunities, such as interactive exhibits, themed exhibits, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities, that can help children on the move learn about a variety of topics, including history, science , art, culture and more. This allows them to broaden their horizons and acquire new knowledge in a playful and stimulating way.

“These activities are very useful for children to distract themselves, since they are going through a very stressful migratory process, since they are not given prior information, they are not asked, they are only taken out of their context to start a long journey, the which is quite hard”, explained the official.

In addition, visiting museums can also help migrant children develop a deeper understanding of the local or host country culture, as well as become familiar with the region’s traditions, customs and heritage.
