Mexico City.- The Secretariat of the Comptroller of Mexico City will file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) for the possible crime of diversion of resources in the case of the pamphlets found in the Cuauhtémoc City Hall, which display slogans against the Chief of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum.

The Comptroller of the Capital, Juan José Serrano, indicated that there are around 52,000 flyers and 12 insured canvases in the offices of the Department of Development and Welfare of the demarcation, headed by the Mayor of the Opposition, Sandra Cuevas. He indicated that the materials constitute sufficient evidence to start with the investigation folder, although the Internal Control Body continues to collect data.

“Although it is up to the Prosecutor’s Office to determine the crime, regarding the administrative issue, the investigation has already begun in the Internal Control Body, and, depending on the information we collect, it is most likely due to diversion of resources,” he said. Serrano at a press conference.

The official reaffirmed that action was taken based on a citizen complaint and said that there is still not enough information to ensure that this type of flyer was distributed in other municipalities or that similar materials exist in other places.
