What to do if the power goes out?
The fastest and most effective help is always self-help. We should all be so well prepared and equipped that we can spend a few days at home. “Camping holiday at home” is the keyword here. In any case, this includes durable food, light, an emergency cooking area, a battery-operated radio, a first-aid kit and the most important personal medication. In the event of a blackout, it makes sense and is important to organize and support one another in the immediate vicinity – among friends, family, in the neighborhood. Ideally, you should talk to your neighbors in quiet times about who has what skills and resources in an emergency and who needs special support. Think of the elderly, people in need of care and families with young children.
