In a long-awaited documentary called “The Pope Answers”, which is found on a well-known digital platform, Pope Francis talks about sex, abortion and the LGBTI community.
Pope Francis assured that sex is “one of the beautiful things that God has given to humans” during the documentary.
It is based on a meeting that the 86-year-old Pope had with 10 people over the age of 20 in Rome, where his guests asked a series of questions on various topics.
Among the topics that the Argentine clergyman spoke about were the rights of the LGBT+ community, abortion, the pornography industry, sex, faith and sexual abuse of children within the Catholic Church.
During the responses, the Supreme Pontiff indicated that “sex is one of the beautiful things that God has given to humans.”
Pope Francis talks about masturbation and non-binary people
Regarding masturbation, he indicated that “expressing oneself sexually is rich. So anything that detracts from actual sexual expression diminishes you and depletes this wealth.”
When asked if he knew what a non-binary person was, Pope Francis indicated that he did and reiterated that people from the LGBT+ community must be welcomed by the Catholic Church.
“All people are children of God, all people. God does not reject anyone, God is a father. And I do not have the right to expel anyone from the Church, ”he said.
What does Pope Francis think about abortion?
For the leader of the Catholic Church, abortion continues to be an “unacceptable” action, however, he said that priests should be more merciful to women who decide to terminate their pregnancy.
“It is good to call things by their name. It is one thing to accompany the person who had one (abortion) and quite another to justify the act, ”she said.
Pope Francis’ remarks were published by L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s official newspaper, which described his conversation with the young people as an “open and sincere dialogue.”
