A new concept video has imagined what the classic infinite-running mobile game would look like. Subway Surfers if it had been done in Unreal Engine 5.

Unreal Engine 5 is the latest game development engine from Epic Games, allowing developers and artists to truly push the limits of modern hardware.

The TeaserPlay YouTube channel has created a variety of Unreal Engine 5 concept videos over the years, often imagining what classic video games would look like if they were given the Unreal Engine 5 treatment.

TeaserPlay videos have included everything from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remade in Unreal Engine 5 to imagining what Spider-Man 2 would look like if it allowed players to switch between Miles Morales, Peter Parker, and Venom at will. TeaserPlay’s Unreal Engine 5 concept videos typically focus on big-budget franchises, but the Subway Surfers video is an exception to the rule.

The video shows classic endless runner-style Subway Surfers gameplay, but with significantly improved graphics. Instead of the cartoony art style associated with the original game, the concept of this Subway Surfers remake goes for realism.

The player character runs through the tracks, collecting coins and avoiding obstacles just like in the real Subway Surfers game, but in the end he gets hit by a train and loses his progress.
