Wall Street reopens its doors after the holiday and goes down. Europe, which has been overbought for a few weeks, continues to rise. It seems a contradiction but it is not so. This proves what we have often written on these pages: an excess of an oscillator is not an indication of a sale or a purchase, but what matters is the trend. January 18: This will be a decisive day for the markets until at least January 31, the first annual setup.
What to expect from now on?
Despite the trading day ending in the red for US markets, the trend continues to remain bullish. But tomorrow is really indicative, and could dictate the pace until the end of the month.
From a weekly point of view, within the first few hours of trading we should go back to the upside. Otherwise, a bearish phase of a few percentage points could begin. Not more than! There are no conditions to see falls of more than 3/5% for the European markets, and 1/1.5% for the American ones.
