The so-called Great March for Peace took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 3 in the city of Lime. The demonstration started from the Field of Mars by Jesus Maria heading to the Plaza San Martín, in the Center of Lima. Unfortunately, a former member of Peru Libre threw red paint at the police, in an incident that did not tarnish citizen action at all.

Minutes before 4:00 pm, a group of at least ten people were intervened by agents of the National Police when they broke into the demonstration throwing red paint at the citizens. Among them was the former member of Peru Libre, Zaira Arias.

Images broadcast by Canal N showed a woman detained by law enforcement officers demanding alive for the 27 deaths that left the violent protests in the interior of the country in mid-December. The incident occurred on Avenida 9 de Diciembre (former Paseo Colón).
