Threats against candidates for the primary elections in Venezuela continue

Between disqualifications and violence, the opposition demanded respect for political freedoms, the cessation of death threats and an end to violence in the campaign carried out today by dissident politicians in Venezuela.

This has been the environment of just weeks of opposition pre-election campaign with a view to the election of a single candidate for the primary voting on October 22.

According to presidential candidate Henrique Capriles, 36 people were injured during a campaign rally that was attempted on behalf of the opposition in Apura, in the south of the country.
